This site is dedicated to the memory of Alby Allen.

This page is in memory of our dad Alby Allen who died on 1st September 2010 after a long battle against the effects of stroke. Alby was a caring husband, dad, grandfather and friend. He touched the lives of many people and, even now nearly three years after his passing, is sorely missed by many people. We as a family have pledged to raise funds for the stroke association in dad's memory, and have already began this process. In April 2011, our mam hosted a coffee morning at Lanchester All Saints RC Church and raised £300. In May 2011, my brother Andy together with cousins Graham and Chris, and friend Gary cycled from Whitehaven to Sunderland over 2 days. Please check out the gallery for some pictures. A fundraising night was held at Lanchester Social Club when they returned. In November 2011 our Kev completed Gibside trail race in 46 minutes, which is a very commendable performance. He commented that although it was very hard, he enjoyed it. See picture in gallery for proof of finish. In May 2012, Mam hosted another coffee morning at Lanchester All Saints RC Church and raised £200 Myself, Andy and Kev all completed a marathon on October 7th 2012 at Kielder, Northumberland. We had all trained hard in the months leading up to Kielder but it's fair to say that all of us suffered along the way and were elated to finish the marathon. Kev finished in 4hrs 32 mins, Tony in 4hrs 51 mins and, Andy in 5hrs 2 mins. Fundraising went well and we raised nearly £1250. I have put some pictures in the gallery. We would like to congratulate close family friend Chris Leary for completing the Great North Run on 15th September 2012 in 2 hours. Chris was running for the Stroke Association and a picture can be found in the gallery. In May 2013, Mam held her annual coffee morning at Lanchester All Saints RC Church Hall and raised a great total of £250. In July 2013, Andy was nominated in the Stroke Association fundraiser of the year awards. Please have a look in the gallery for a picture of his certificate. We would like to thank all the sponsors, donators of prizes and, people who have supported our events. Please feel free to leave any messages you may have. Many Thanks, Anthony Allen Updated 22nd July 2013
